Homemade Hamburger Helper

I set out to make goulash. But it quickly evolved into a homemade hamburger helper as I realized I didn’t actually have all the ingredients I usually used in goulash. 🤷🏻‍♀️😏

Happy mistake because this was quick, easy, and loved by all!

Homemade Hamburger Helper

🍔 1 lb ground beef

🍔 1 onion (or dehydrated onion flakes!)

🍔 preferred seasonings for cooking up your beef (I use seasoning salt, Kinders Buttery Burger Blend, granulated garlic, & dehydrated minced onion - all to taste)

🍔 12 oz macaroni (I used shells), cooked according to package directions

🍔 2 cans (8 oz each) tomato sauce

🍔 8 oz velveeta cheese

🍔 1/8 tsp (or less) smoked paprika, optional

🍔 1/4 tsp chili powder

🍔 1/2 tsp dried thyme

🍔 1/2 tsp dried basil

Brown your ground beef in well seasoned skillet over medium heat with your choice of seasonings. Drain when cooked through. Place back into skillet. Add the velveeta cheese and stir around over low heat to begin melting. Add the 2 cans tomato sauce and the chili powder, smoked paprika, thyme, and basil (also more garlic if you’d like!). Stir all together while the cheese is melting. Go ahead and toss in the cooked macaroni and stir, letting that melted cheese and tomato sauce cover everything. Once the cheese is all melted and it all looks and smells divine, it’s ready to serve. Serve with a veggie and bread of your choice!

Easy peasy. And so good! (Better than the boxed stuff!)

Blessings!
