Breakfast Pizza 🍕☀️☕️

Can we talk some more about pizza?! 😅 I know. There are some of you that don’t want to read through all my thoughts to get to the recipe. I get it! 😏 But since homemade pizza doesn’t really have a “recipe”..I’m just gonna have to talk this one out. 😊

I recently posted about homemade stuffed crust pizza. We love it! It’s so easy and so delicious. But recently, friends of mine opened my eyes to some new pizza experiences. 😄

First of all - smoking your pizza. As in, cooking it on your smoker. 🤯 Guys. It was delicious. And didn’t take any longer than baking in your oven. I had this misconception that smoking it meant it took forever. I was wrong. And I happily admit that. 😊

Secondly - making your crust using this mix from Shawnee Mills.

It is better than the refrigerated crust. And is very easy.

It is so sticky though! I don’t know how those pizza chefs toss their dang crust 🤷🏻‍♀️ Will have to come back to that 😏

After mixing it according to the instructions, I started spreading it on the pizza stone and was thinking it would be a disaster because of how sticky it was. Well, wrong again! It baked up perfectly!

Thirdly - Breakfast Pizza. 😋

We had some leftover sausage gravy so my first attempt at pizza with this semi-homemade crust was a breakfast pizza. (I will see if I can make a good stuffed crust pizza using this crust.)

Breakfast Pizza 🍕☀️☕️🥚

🥚Shawnee Mills pizza crust mix (mix up according to package directions. I used two packages for the breakfast pizza shown in these pictures)

🥚6 eggs, scrambled, cooked until almost done. Take off the heat way before you think you should and let finish cooking in the oven. 🥚salt/pepper/milk for scrambled eggs. Probably 1/2 - 3/4 cup milk.

🥚cheese - 3/4 to 1 cup to top pizza. Whatever cheese you like. I used mozzarella and fiesta blend. 🥚sausage gravy - this is your “sauce” for the breakfast pizza. I probably had 1 to 1 1/2 cups leftover sausage gravy to use.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix up your crust according to package instructions. It will have you let it sit for 7 minutes. This is when I scrambled my eggs and started them cooking. Finish following package instructions for pizza crust and then spread it out on your pizza stone. (Next time, I will prebake the crust approximately 5 minutes just because I felt like the center was layered pretty thick with gravy, eggs, and cheese. It was good, but prebaking the crust a bit would make the crust a little crunchier.)

Spread the sausage gravy on the crust, leaving a little space at the edges for your crust. Top with the almost done, but not quite done scrambled eggs. Spread them around on top of the gravy. Top it all off with your choice of cheese.

Bake at 425 until crust is browned and eggs are done (approximately 15 minutes, but this may differ for you).

This was delicious!! Let me know if you try it and what you thought! And let me know if you’ve ever smoked a pizza...and if you haven’t, try it!

Happy baking 😊
